Jessie “Reed” Short

Indianapolis – Jessie “Reed” Short, 78, of Indianapolis passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, uncle and grandfather. Following his service in the United States Air Force, Reed started a roofing career at Sink & Edwards Roofing. In 1978 he joined his brother and became Guaranteed Roofing, Inc. He was a 61 year member of the Roofers Union Local #119. He was a devoted member and elder of the South Keystone Church of Christ. Reed leaves behind his loving wife of almost 57 years, Sue (Sanders); 2 daughters Wendy Short; Peggy Gregerson and husband (Gerry) and 1 son Michael Short and wife (Tonya); 3 sisters and 1 brother; 5 grandchildren; and a host of many relatives and friends.

The visitation will be held at the Community Life Center at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, on Monday, June 18, from 1 pm – 8 pm and Tuesday, June 19, from 10 am – 11 am with services starting at 11 am and burial immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to South Keystone Church of Christ, 3802 S Keystone Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227, or a charity of your choice. Services entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.

NORMAN E. “MORT” DALMAN Obituary

NORMAN E. “MORT” DALMAN, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018. Born May 21, 1944, he was a son of the late Charles and Latonia (Wagge man) Dalman. He work ed his entire life in the construction field as a welder and roofer, most recently working as a superintendent at Fort Wayne Roofing. He belonged to American Legion Post 241 and enjoyed bowling. He will be remembered as a man to go to for information about many things and his love for his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving family include his wife, Judy Dalman; son, James (Melissa) Dalman; daughter-in-law, Kelly Jo Dalman; grandchildren, Denver, Tori, and Norman; great- grandchildren, Elijah and Lily; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in passing by his son, Ed Dalman; one sister and one brother. A time of sharing is 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation starting at noon. Graveside service to follow at Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
